Kari Thoreson is an associate attorney at Sebo Savica Law Firm. She currently assists clients in navigating complex legal disputes with a focus on thorough research, strategic advocacy, and client-centered solutions.

Kari earned her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and hispanic studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth and her Juris Doctor from University of St. Thomas School of Law. She was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in October 2024. During law school, she gained hands-on experience as a student attorney at the Special Education Legal Clinic at University of St. Thomas, where she assisted students and families navigate the special education system. She is passionate about advocating for individuals with disabilities and hopes to incorporate special education and disability law into her practice in the future.
Before joining Sebo Savica Law Firm, Kari worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Shawn M. Bartsh, Ramsey County District Court Judge, assisting with legal research, drafting, and case preparation. Her experience working with individuals, families, and organizations gives her a strategic advantage in providing practical and compassionate legal solutions.
Beyond her legal practice, Kari is actively involved in disability advocacy. She serves on the board of the Valley Friendship Club in Stillwater, MN, an organization dedicated to fostering inclusive social opportunities for individuals with disabilities. She has also been a longtime volunteer with Special Olympics Minnesota as a coach, unified partner, and event volunteer. Inspired by her brother, Vince, Kari is dedicated to creating a more inclusive world through both her legal career and community involvement.
Kari is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. She is committed to ongoing professional development and engagement within the legal community.
Outside of work, Kari enjoys traveling, reading, baking, golfing, playing pickleball, and spending time with her family and dog, River.
